Breach: Remixes features four interpretations of the dark melodic techno track, “Breach” by Nico DeNitto from Maison Fauna’s Field Guide I Compilation. The first leverages David Surratt’s signature pounding techno, analog growls, and dreamy vocal samples to craft a melancholy take on the source material that amounts to the perfect 6 AM set closer. Chainletter’s version is a groovy 909 techno romp that wouldn’t sound out of place in a set next to New Order’s “Blue Monday.” Track 3 introduces Charlotte’s Chirpzing with a haunting, dubby two step version that showcases both the artist’s production chops and a deep knowledge of UK underground music. Lastly, Temple of Boom (a duo comprised of Maison Fauna founders Kir and Nico) craft a rave-friendly version just in time for summer with influences from electro, drum and bass, and IDM.
