Treee City - The Way
From co-founding the Party Illegal rave series to stellar releases with Raund Haus, calling Treee City a pillar of underground music in Durham would be an understatement. Following his Field Guide I single “Tell Me” which WeRaveYou called a, “hybrid dance banger,” the maestro picks up right where he left off. “The Way” is imbued with light, ambient and textural sound design juxtaposed with hard-hitting techno aggression. While the influences ranging from Four Tet to Paula Temple are on clear display, the Treee City touch is front and center on each song—arguably his most warehouse-ready collection of house and techno to date. The vibe is a nostalgic dive into 90s rave, a genre bending four-track collection that takes listeners on a journey back to clubland.
