Fragmented vocal stabs and scream-like synths fall effortlessly between each hit of the stark beat, and satisfyingly accent, ride, and bring home every break and drop. There’s a familiarity in this production style, but it’s one that pays homage without feeling like a duplicate of something that already exists.
